Maricopa Music Circle, the city's original conductor-less chamber orchestra, is well known to city audiences for its excellent performances and intriguing programming. Founded in 2010 as a small ensemble by Judith Lang Zaimont, composer and pianist, Genevieve Ehrbright, violinist, and Mary Mullarky, cellist, MMC has grown into a true Chamber Orchestra bringing together local Maricopa musicians who are primarily music professionals at a high level, performing mostly within Maricopa and surrounding locales.
Our programs always range widely and include everything from full
orchestral works to classical instrumental and vocal solos, along with
traditional seasonal music, popular tunes, and great standards from
the big-band era to the present. Most of our
arrangements are tailored especially for our instrumentation – a big
plus.
MMC regularly offers its own concerts and in just the past two years MMC offered a note of classical provenance
at the city's formal 10th Anniversary Ceremonies and Grand Opening at
the new City Hall, served as chief musical partner to Maricopa Chorus,
Maricopa Community Theatre, Desert Sun Performing Arts and the first
edition of Art on the Veranda, and performed at the first Maricopa Music
Festival. Our current membership includes
acclaimed solo artists who have performed repeatedly on the world
stage, master teachers in specific instruments and active orchestra
members from several states.
